Customizable Workshops & Services

Flip Phones for Kids 1

In the first half of this seminar, we discuss how technology has snaked its way into all aspects of our lives and the mental, physical, moral and societal implications.

Flip Phones for Kids 2

The second half of this seminar specifically focuses on kids because they are the generation that hasn't been sucked in, yet.  Tune in to find out how to push back the blind creep of culture and some alternatives before we lose them completely to the artificial.

KINDNESS IN KRISIS

We all have tools to deal with difficult people,

but what happens when we reach the end of our utility belt? Using the acronym S.T.O.P. to counteract the tendency to repeat ourselves, make threats, and/or get closer and louder, this presentation will equip responders to pursue the gentlest, most beneficial resolutions.

DESTRUCTIVE TO PRODUCTIVE

   Creating a Restorative Justice      Culture

The zero tolerance philosophy created a pipeline from school to prison. With Senate Bill 100 being enacted, schools need to create multi-tiered interventions for their most intensive populations. This workshop will challenge educators to think around the problem and outside the box.

SOCIAL / EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE

   The most important lesson in

   (and out of) the classroom

Legislation that reverses zero-tolerance policies is a glaring testament to the fact that every school should work to increase its population’s sense of belonging and community.  Social / Emotional Intelligence is the missing piece that can foster climates of self-actualization and innovation.

THE SUPERHERO IN EVERY EDUCATOR

By combining a session about the importance of role modeling and mentoring (Monkey See; Monkey do) with a session about creating healthy personal balance and boundaries in an education setting (Getting Out Alive), this workshop highlights the impact we can each have on young, pliable minds.

BEHAVIOR PROGRAMMING      WITH BITE

PBIS, CBT, BOY'S TOWN, CPI, ART, ect. All these programs have merit, but what's right for your school? This workshop will give an overview of the finer points of behavior programming.  Participants will leave with practical tools to improve the classroom and school environment.

PROBLEM SOLVING THROUGH    PEACE CIRCLES

Restorative justice simply advocates that those involved in a harmful occurrence are the best equipped to remediate the situation.  Utilizing successful, centuries-old tribal and religious practices, circles seek to build relationships, restore community, and prevent further incidents.

MONKEY SEE, MONKEY DO
   The Impact you're Modeling

The impact of our teaching starts long before the lesson. In this workshop, teachers will analyze the characteristics of effective role models, self-evaluate their strengths and areas of need, and develop a plan for how to communicate more effectively through action.

GETTING OUT ALIVE
    By Controlling Your Universe

Teaching is an extremely high burnout career. We are constantly asked to accomplish more, with less support, more scrutiny, an ever changing benchmark, and the perception that we have it easy because we give the kids the summer off. The only way to make a career out of this is finding balance and peace despite the chaos.

WELCOME TO PRISON

This interacive session utilizes exerpts from The Throwaway Kids and a short documentary to help the audience experience what a stint in a juvenile facility would really be like.

PROGRAM  CONSULTING

Through observation coupled with staff and student interviews, our consultant will compile a comprehensive report identifying strengths, areas of development, and an action plan to improve overall student service.
